Cast Unveils New Single 'Faraway' Ahead of Liam Gallagher Tour

Saturday, 01 June 2024

Liverpool-based band Cast has released their new single, 'Faraway,' offering a glimpse into their upcoming album 'Love Is The Call.' As excitement builds for their return, Cast is set to support Liam Gallagher on his 'Definitely Maybe 30 Years' tour, including a stop at Utilita Arena Sheffield on 01 June 2024.

'Faraway' follows the earlier releases of 'Love You Like I Do' and the album's title track, building anticipation for the full album release on February 16th. The track, described by the band as an ode to perseverance in challenging times, captures a classic pop sound with jangling guitars, an infectious hook, and melodies that take flight from the outset.

Frontman John Power reflects on the essence of 'Faraway,' stating, "The song is about trying to find your voice in a world that doesn’t care or seem to want to listen. As the world turns into the shadows, the sun still burns so far away, and the dreams you keep until tomorrow, they sometimes feel so far away."

'Love Is The Call' marks Cast's first collection of new music in six years and promises a return to the band's roots with a psychedelic pop sound, a rockabilly beat, and a bouncing bass. Power envisions the album as a cosmic call to arms, bridging the gap between the end of The La’s and the beginning of Cast.

To celebrate the upcoming album release, Cast will join Liam Gallagher on his 'Definitely Maybe' 30th anniversary tour. Additionally, the band will embark on an intimate record store tour and later headline their own tour, offering fans a chance to experience their enchanting music live.

As 'Faraway' sets the tone for Cast's musical resurgence, fans eagerly anticipate the band's evocative sound and the nostalgic journey 'Love Is The Call' promises to deliver. Get ready to immerse yourself while listening to Cast as they accompany Liam Gallagher on a tour that celebrates the enduring legacy of 'Definitely Maybe.'
