Utilita Arena Sheffield is proud to support Invisible Chips, a unique initiative from Hospitality Action that gives our guests the opportunity to make a small contribution to a very important cause.

What are Invisible Chips?

Everybody loves chips – but Invisible Chips are 0% fat and 100% charity.

When visiting the Arena, guests can choose to add a portion of Invisible Chips to their food and drink order. There might not be anything on the plate, but the purchase helps Hospitality Action provide vital support to people working in the hospitality industry who are facing hardship.

It's a simple idea: buy nothing, change something.

Who could imagine that buying nothing could change everything?

Supporting hospitality people

Invisible Chips were created by Hospitality Action, the trade charity for the UK hospitality industry. For nearly 190 years, Hospitality Action has supported hospitality people experiencing financial hardship, poverty and physical or mental health challenges.

In 2025, Hospitality Action awarded more than £1.05 million in financial grants, its highest annual figure since the pandemic. The charity also helped unlock more than £500,000 in unclaimed benefits and supported hundreds of people through specialist housing advocacy and debt restructuring services.

Alongside financial assistance, Hospitality Action provides mental health support and signposting to the wider hospitality workforce through its online advice service and 24-hour helpline. Its Employee Assistance Programme also supports around 200,000 hospitality workers.

Making a difference at the Arena

By choosing Invisible Chips during your visit to Utilita Arena Sheffield, you can help Hospitality Action continue its work supporting the people behind the hospitality industry.
