Utilita Arena Sheffield has been awarded a 5-star Licensing SAVI accreditation, recognising the Arena’s ongoing commitment to providing a safe, secure and welcoming environment for customers, artists, staff and the wider community.
The accreditation, issued by Licensing SAVI (Licensing Security and Vulnerability Initiative), is backed by the Home Office and the National Police Chiefs’ Council and represents the highest possible rating within the scheme.
Licensing SAVI is a nationally recognised, police-backed initiative designed to help licensed venues identify, assess and improve safety, security and safeguarding standards. The scheme supports venues in meeting the requirements of the Licensing Act 2003 and promotes the four key licensing objectives, including public safety and the prevention of crime and disorder.
Venues achieve accreditation by completing a comprehensive assessment covering areas such as crowd safety, safeguarding vulnerable guests, responsible alcohol management, drugs misuse prevention, physical security measures and counter-terrorism awareness.
Achieving a 5-star rating reflects the Arena’s proactive approach to safety and its continued investment in best practice across all aspects of venue operations. From large live music and sporting events to family shows and exhibitions, the accreditation provides reassurance that visitor safety remains a top priority at every event.
Licensing SAVI has been shown to make a real difference. Research into accredited venues has demonstrated reductions in violent incidents and improved overall safety outcomes, underlining the positive impact of the scheme for both venues and local communities.
Dom Stokes, General Manager at Utilita Arena Sheffield said:
“Receiving a 5-star Licensing SAVI accreditation is a great achievement for the Arena and a testament to the dedication of our team. We’re committed to creating a safe, secure and welcoming space for fans, artists, staff and the wider Sheffield community.”

Utilita Arena Sheffield is operated by Legends Global, whose UK venues have been widely recognised for their commitment to safety and security through Licensing SAVI. The Arena joins other major venues across the country in achieving top ratings under the scheme.
