Def Leppard are set to return to Utilita Arena Sheffield tomorrow night, marking not only their 11th performance at the Arena, but their 17th performance across Sheffield’s two iconic live entertainment venues, Sheffield City Hall and Utilita Arena Sheffield.

From their early days playing Sheffield City Hall in the 1980s to headlining major arena shows as global rock superstars, Def Leppard’s relationship with Sheffield audiences has remained as strong as ever. The band performed six times at Sheffield City Hall between 1980 and 1987, before making their Arena debut in 1992.

Across their previous 10 Arena appearances, including headline shows and co-headline performances with Whitesnake, the band has performed to more than 92,000 fans, with tomorrow’s show set to push that total beyond 100,000 attendees at the Arena alone.

The Sheffield date forms part of Def Leppard’s major 2026 UK and European tour, marking their first UK and EU headline solo shows since their huge sold-out 2023 run alongside Mötley Crüe, which saw them perform to more than 2.1 million fans worldwide across 27 countries.

For Sheffield, however, this show carries extra significance.

Formed in Sheffield in 1977, Def Leppard went on to become one of the world’s biggest rock bands, selling more than 110 million albums worldwide and earning two prestigious Diamond Awards in the United States. Their catalogue includes some of rock’s most iconic anthems, including Pour Some Sugar on Me, Animal, Rock of Ages, Hysteria and Foolin’.

Their influence spans generations, with multi-platinum albums including Pyromania and Hysteria helping define arena rock and securing their place in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

Fans attending tomorrow can expect a huge night packed with classic hits, fan favourites and the band’s trademark high-energy live show, alongside special guests Extreme.

Dom Stokes, General Manager at Utilita Arena Sheffield, said:

“Def Leppard are more than just global rock stars; they are Sheffield legends. Their connection with the city is truly special, and their history across both Sheffield City Hall and Utilita Arena Sheffield tells an incredible story.

From playing City Hall in the early years of their career to returning time and again to headline the Arena as global superstars, they have been performing at our venues for nearly five decades. Very few artists can claim that kind of long-standing relationship with a city and its venues.

We’re incredibly proud that both Sheffield City Hall and Utilita Arena Sheffield have played a part in their journey, and we can’t wait to welcome the band and their fans back for what promises to be another unforgettable night.”
